November 2014

Happy 10 Year Wedding Anniversary to Us!
Dan and I returned to Weston, MO for a nice dinner at the Winery Restaurant that Dan took me to 10+ years ago when he proposed. We stayed at The Hatchery House Bed & Breakfast for a nice night away. It snowed for the first time this year.

Dan treated Burke and I to an aerial tour of the fall leaves turning colors. We flew to Topeka for breakfast at the airport. We had an unexpected loss of the gas cap on the flight there so we spent a few extra hours at the Topeka airport waiting for a replacement cap to be delivered. When we got our wheels up to head back to KC it was nap time so dad's smooth flight put Burke to sleep.

Burke and Gage also like my "C" pregnancy pillow and fight over it. It is a  life saver!

Tessa came over to play one evening so Nicole and Mike could celebrate his birthday.
Burke LOVES his cousins.

Just a little bed time story. My belly is getting bigger. :)
At Thanksgiving in Wichita, Papa Jim was so kind to be our photography at Oak Park to take our family photo for the annual Christmas card.

Burke and I went to the Union Station Extreme Bug Exhibit to check out the giant bugs. Ahhhh!

Bump Pic- She is baking along in there. This is about 27 weeks along.

Thanksgiving in Wichita. Richard and Burke have similar style, both wearing red and black plaid.

Its time to get ready for Santa!

October 2014

IT'S A GIRL!

Burke is going to have a little sister!
Dan and I found out October 13th that our little one kicking away in there is a girl. It was amazing to see her move and hear her little heartbeat. She is looking healthy and measuring for a March 8th due date. Dan and Burke had thought it was a girl all along. Boy, was I wrong. I guess I didn't want to believe the wives tale that a girl makes you sick due to the extra hormones. We are all very excited either way. I am looking forward to a little girl to balance out this household. I won't be outnumbered anymore! Burke has already agreed to share his trains and teach her how to catch grass hoppers.

When we told Burke that he was going to have a sister he argued with us. He was shown the sonogram and was looking for long hair. When he didn't see long hair, he said it was a boy and asked if the hair grew out of the brain. After we convinced him it was a girl he folded his arms behind his head and said "fun" in a nonchalant way.

Burke and Theo are a fierce batman duo.

September 2014

Burke has a new room with his new big boy full bed.

We enjoyed a long weekend at the lake with the McGowns. The McGowns shared their big news that they are expecting as well. In fact, Megan and I are due on the exact same date!!! We are so excited for them and that our kids will be the same age.
Charlotte and Burke had a blast together!
We met Grandma Karyl and Aunt Megan in Lawrence to celebrate their August birthdays at Free State Brewery. Burke wore his new "Cool Big Bro" shirt to announce the news live to Karyl and Megan.

Burke had another round of Croup so we spent a day at home trying to get him breathing easier.
After a few days stuck inside, Burke and I ventured outside to enjoy the beautiful weather and go to Deanna Rose. Burke rode his first horse, "Sadie."

Apple Picking at Aldredge Farm has become a new tradition.

Burke got to ride in a combine, tractor and a grain truck. Despite his facial expression here, he loved it so much that he was crying when it was time to get out of the combine.

BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!!!

Burke has some great news to share....

Burke is going to be a big brother in March 2015!
We are very excited to welcome another little one to our family. Our exact due date is March 3rd. We will find out the Baby Croft's gender October 13th. We will share the gender but hold the name until the little peanut arrives. I am very excited for a spring baby. I definitely think I am showing earlier with this baby and at 15 weeks broke out some maternity clothes.

We told Burke on a walk at the dog park. Burke had picked some wild berries before we sat down on a bench. Dan took Burke's berries away from him while we told him this life changing news. Burke listened as Dan explained that he would be a big brother and there was a baby in Mom's belly. When we asked him what he thought and if we understand he said. "Yes, can I have my berries back now?"
Burke seems to understand and has asked great questions since but seems indifferent at this point.
Burke first requested a sister and chose the name Spongebob. We will put that on the list. : )
