Burke's 47th Week- First Turkey Day

Burke loves my necklaces and face dives into my neck to eat them daily. This evening I put my necklace on him. He wanted it off immediately.

Dan thought Burke's woodsmen pajamas were missing his wool socks.
We hosted Thanksgiving this year. Karyl and Uncle Larry joined us in KC. While we waited for the turkey to cook we enjoyed the pretty day outside.

One mean game of hide and go seek.
 Vroom Vroom.
After dinner we walked to the park to get some fresh air and walk off the turkey dinner. Happy Thanksgiving!

Burke's 46th Week- 10 Months Old

Burke's personality is emerging more and more each day. We are having so much fun!
Here Dan blows up his cheeks with air and helps Burke use his hands to "pop" Dan's cheek and get air blown on his face. The contagious laughter just rolls out of our son. What a ball!

Burke's hair has a mind of its own, especially after a bath.
Evidently Burke was not feeling photogenic for his 10 month photo.

Just kidding... Burke is happy and silly again

See how long my tongue is mom!
 Sneaking a kiss before school

Griers dogpile on Burke when they came over to visit Nonna and Papa that came up this weekend.
Papa helps Burke build with blocks. Burke loves Papa's mustache, glasses and fun sound effects.
 Crash!
mango + banana bread = breakfast of champions
Just cleaning out the tupperware cabinet.
Thanks for coming up to see me Nonna and Papa. You guys are so fun (and helpful to mom).

Burke's 45th Week- Fall Visitors

We had a great week full of visitors.

On Wednesday our family friends, Joe and Margaret Lozar came to meet Mr. Burke for the first time and shared dinner with us. Burke took really well to Joe and tugged on his pants until Joe pulled Burke on his lap to snuggle. Margaret is such a natural with Burke as she was a teacher before the couple decided to travel the world in their mobile home. We always enjoy their stories. Most recently they returned from Australia and we were along their route from Manhattan, KS to Louiville for the winter.

Burke is fighting a cough this week.
His pink cheeks didn't stop him from getting a ride in the laundry basket.

On Saturday, The Browns from D.C. came for the day. Ryan and Jen are so good to make an effort to tour the midwest and see family atleast once a year. We had lunch at our house and all the second cousins played together quite well.
 Julia is a cutie pie!
Time to color. Please pass the green crayon.
A quick stop at the park before dinner at the Griers.
Second Cousins: Tessa (9), Burke (10 months), Julia (3 1/2), Jason (1 1/2) and Reid (6).

A cute barrel full of monkeys.

 Burke loves Uncle Mike.
Saturday evening, Dan's Uncle Larry drove up to KC from Wellington so the boys could go to the Chiefs' game on Sunday against the Broncos. It was a beautiful 65 degree day.

Burke's 44th Week

Dan brought home some ducks after a morning of hunting. We made some duck soup, an original Papa Jim, recipe. Yum! Burke was trying on Dad's hat to see if he was ready to try hunting out. Not quite yet.

Burke's eyes are looking more green every day.

Saturday morning his hair was in full effect. As the kids would say, he had Bieber Fever with lots of hair swooped to one side.
He pets his pet lion as he enjoys a bottle.
It helps him stay focused on the task at hand. Drinking vs. milk slinging.
We got Burke some new blocks. Dan built a few towers just for Burke's destruction.
 Destruction
Thursday night we discovered soggy carpet due to a bum sump pump and lots of rain. We took Friday off to suck the water out of our carpet pad and carpet. It sucked.
 Our basement pulled apart.
Our basement put back together after 4 days of drying.
All better now.

Burke's 43rd Week- Burke's FIRST Halloween!

Burke's first Halloween was a three day event. On the Friday before Halloween his day care had a party.
This is Ms. Nicole offering Burke a cupcake without the frosting. We like Ms. Nicole a lot. She is our babysitter too. In fact, she came over later that afternoon to babysit Burke while Dan and I went to Polly and Jeb's baby shower.

Miss Kelsey claims Burke is her favorite.
Bridget the bumble bee.
Our lil stinker didn't want his hat on.
This is Molly. We think that she and Burke are boyfriend and girlfriend.
We got Burke a new push toy.
Saturday Burke and I attended a baby Halloween party. The Mullers (the Justice League) hosted us.

Sunday we went to the dog park.
And the people park too.

Happy Halloween!

Burke's first Trick or Treat experience.

 I love Auntie Nicole!
 Candy please!
