Burke's 15th Week

Hello? Is anyone there?

He loves his monkey rattle blanket and is quite adept at getting to his mouth.

 Happy Easter!
Nonna was anxious to get her hands on Burke. She is quick to get him smiling away.
Nicole was entertaining Burke at Nonna's house.

This is Nonna's chair that seemed to be reserved for anyone holding Burke.

Tessa's turn

Tess was reading us all a story.

Burke's 14th Week!

Burke's First Easter!
I got him all dressed up for his Easter card pictures.
The Croft Family made our first trip to Manhattan the week before Easter. Dan wanted to go turkey hunting. We took little Burke to meet the orginal Burke Bayer, Burke's Great Great Uncle. The two guys hit it off.
Aunt Margery was excited to have a baby in the house. Isn't she adorable?

 The Burkes!
 Six Generations of K-Staters!
We also took Burke to meet our friend Penny's little boy Oliver. He is three weeks older than Burke.
Penny and Kira (who just turned 2)

Little Oliver. We love the name Oliver. When we were expecting and I was reading my books each week the book referenced a food that would represent the baby's size. Early in the pregnancy our baby was an Olive so we called the baby Olive thinking he was a girl. At 20 weeks when we found out our "she" was a he we started calling him "Oliver" a more masculine name. We just liked it as our working name since we weren't revealing his name until he was born. When Penny had her little boy she called me to see if she could name her little boy Oliver as that was their favorite name. We, of course, said yes. Funny story.

Penny & I swapped boys for our photo. Burke is bigger than Oliver.
On Saturday, Burke & I went to Topeka with Karyl and Megan to go wedding dress shopping. He slept through most of it.

 The first wedding dress.
Grandma Karyl getting some cuddles in.
Our laundry basket shot. His neck is getting so strong.
What a big boy sitting up in his bumbo.

He is talking alot and loves to show off his gummy smiles. Everything that he can get his hands on makes its way to his mouth. His arms and hands are much more coordinated.
Its finally spring weather here. Our lilacs are blooming and smelling wonderful.
I planted tulips for the first time last fall. Here is the evidence that there will be tulips... some day. They have yet to show their face, but its fun to watch them grow through the snow.

Burke is a good sleeper. He had 6 nights in a row that he slept over 7 hours without waking up for a feeding. He had such a busy weekend that Sunday night he went 12 hours between feedings and slept 9 of those hours. What a pooped boy. Until next week....

Burke's 13th Week!

I felt that I had been slacking on my blog and photography so Burke and I had a photo shoot Saturday am while Dan was at his flying club meeting. This photo I will name "Little Hunter" in honor of Burke's grandpa's upcoming birthday. Happy Birthday Papa Jim! Can't you tell Burke loves camo and his ducks?
Burke still enjoys his bath and his new hooded towel that was given to him.
He is showing off his neck muscles.
 What a hunk!
As you can see, I wore Burke out with the photo shoot and bath so he slept through his next outfit change. His little bunny was given to him by his Great Grandma Jean. He loves his FIRST Easter Bunny!

Dan reads to Burke every day. They prefer Dr. Seuss.

Dan also has a little "Let's Go" cheer that he does with Burke where Burke claps (with the help of dad) and does some arm motions. That is a sure way to get Burke to smile and laugh.
His shirt says "Daddy's Little Co-Pilot"- too cute!
Burke attended his first birthday party on Saturday, his buddy, Easton, (mom's friend's son) turned ONE!
Speaking of birthdays, Dan and I headed out for dinner and drinks with friends to celebrate my 30th with friends. We went out for tapas at La Bodega in downtown KC and then to martini corner for drinks and as our luck should have it, skee ball. FUN! Aunt Nicole was once again to the rescue and babysat Mr. Burke. She also made us a fabulous brunch on Sunday, complete with fresh fruit, two yummy frittatas, spinach salad and angel food cake- MY FAVORITE! Dan got me my first pair of sassy cowgirl boots too.
I felt very loved!

Burke's 12th Week!

We are getting our schedule figured out as this was my 2nd full week back to work. We definitely go to bed early in the Croft household now since they frown upon naps at Hallmark. Burke seems to be doing great at daycare, slowly sleeping more and more there. He evidently was not a fan of his crib in the beginning but is adjusting.
Dan and I are both training for the Kansas City Hospital Hill 1/2 Marathon the first weekend in June, so we take turns running on the weekends and in the evenings. I can't wait until Burke is big enough to sit up in the jogging stroller and come along.  Burke loves being outside. Dan discovered that a quick way to calm Burke down when he is upset is to just step outside with him. We don't know if it is the fresh air, the light or the sounds of the outdoors that have him in awe and calmed immediately.

Bed time is 8:00. Nighty Night little glow worm.

A little naked time for Burk. I love his chunky thighs!

Burke's 11th Week

Burke and I missed Dan this week as he traveled for work to Florida for a Sun-n-Fun convention. Dan brought home a new plane toy for Burke.
