August 2016- Minnesota Vacation Fun

Our view of the lake from the back patio

The kitchen

Megan and Brett

The back of the house facing the lake.

A good sandpit for playing

Lainey loved all the attention!

Great sunsets and a fire pit

Grier kids

Dog pile!

Reid caught over 100 fish!

Great family dinners. We rotated cooks.

The house had a great backyard. We played a lot of football and catch.

Lego time at the Mall of America

The house had the sweetest little bed, perfect for Lainey.

How do you like these melons?

It turns out that feeding 12 people in 1 house for 1 week = lots of food!

Snacks! We realized that when you throw crackers overboard, you make friends with the seagulls.

Good boat floating

Our Mall of America time

Lainey shares her beloved baby with Uncle Brett.

Lots of quality cousin time. Aunt Nicole brought model magic.

When Papa decided to go for an impromptu swim, he forgot he had on his glasses. After a few hours of looking, Reid, Nicole and Dan found the glasses. Whew!

This house's theme was roosters, even a giant statue rooster on the back patio. Nicole decides it needs to be ridden. It was 10 am and no alcohol was involved. :)

A crew took advantage of a rainy day to go visit the Mall of America in Minneapolis, about an hour away. Dan drives the bus to town.

On Friday night we headed South to Minneapolis to catch a Royals vs Twins game.
Luckily the rain stopped in time for game time.

The kids did pretty well considering it was an 8 hour drive.

The Grandmas found a nice loft overlooking the lake for some relaxing reading time.

The whole vacation gang

Reid was a fishing, paddle boating, kayaking fool.
Dan and I decided Reid took the most advantage to his lakeside vacation.

Tessa and Burke kayaking.

Nap time. Vacation can wear a girl out!

The gals giggling.

Papa brought bread to feed the fish. Lainey decided the bread was for her, not the fish.

Reidy is a great cousin to Lainey and such as little sweetheart.
By the end of the week Lainey was saying "Reet" for Reid.

All in all a great vacation!
