We have a white board in Burke's Room that Dan hung shortly after coming home from the hospital. The white board's purpose was to record Burke's bodily functions and develop a schedule. Well, as you can see from Dan's illustration below we have found other uses for the white board.
Say hello to Aviator Burke Croft.
Just another shot of Burke sleeping. Are you noticing a trend here? Mom is about to paint the walls if she doesn't climb them first. Too bad it is too cold to take him outside for a run ... and I am not supposed to work out for another few weeks.
We had lots of special visitors these past few weeks. TJ and Lori came from Manhattan last Sunday just to see our little man.
That same Sunday was Auntie Nicole's 32nd birthday so we bundled up and walked over to the Grier's to deliver birthday treats and a gift.
All bundled up!
Later that day we had our neighbors, the Basgalls come over to deliver dinner, gifts and Ellie likes to hold Burke. I see a future babysitter.
Burke is keeping his eyes open a bit more. We are starting to the resemblance of a smile. This was pajama day, Tuesday, Feb. 1st when we had a blizzard (no exaggeration) so we decided to stay in our jammies that day. Most KS schools and even the capitol shut down for two days. We have seen a lot of snow days this winter.
Burke has a belly button. His umbilical cord finally fell off Monday, Jan. 31st, just shy of 3 weeks after he was born. He still enjoys baths and especially likes getting his hair washed.
We bundled up and ran some errands one blistery Friday morning.
I don't know that he likes his fuzzy outfit as much as I do.
We try to have tummy time 3 times a day, even if it only lasts 2-3 minutes each time. Sometimes he sleeps through tummy time, until Gage comes and wakes him up with a cold nose.
Whoa! Too close, but kind of looks like a smile right?
Kristen's cousin, Ryan, flew in from DC and was kind enough to drive to Wichita and pick up Grandma Jo to come meet Burke.
Grandma Jo meets her fifth Great Grandchild.
Grandma Jo with her Kansas Great Grandkids.
Griers joined Ryan and Grandma Jo at our place for Sunday lunch.
Grandma Jo and Burke got along great! She didn't turn down one opportunity to snuggle him. Thanks for coming to meet him Gram!
We have now put our Baby Bjorn into use since he is over 8 lbs. It allows me to get so much done while he is contently sleeping inside.
Burke is growing so fast he may only get to wear some of his newborn outfits once. At his 4 week check up his stats were: Weight 9lbs. 13 oz.- 60% (20 oz gain in two weeks), Length 22.5 in- 80% (1 inch gain in 2 weeks) and Head circumfrence 14.75- 40%. We go back to the doctor in a month.
