HAPPY 4th OF JULY!

Parkville Parade

BBQ & Fireworks with Paceys and Cul-de-Sac neighbors

We made a quick trip to Dallas to celebrate Bailey's high school graduation. It was great to catch up with the Phelan's busy family.
Burke was intrigued by their pet hedge hog. He called it the "spiky ball."

Burke and James hit it off like old friends.

Back in KC I took all the cousins to see How to Train Your Dragon II.

Burke experienced his first Camp Nonna this summer.
We flew him down to Wichita for a week.
Nonna kept Burke and Papa busy with learning craft projects, back porch activities, the zoo, Eberly Farms, the park and much more. I am not sure who had more fun, Burke or Nana and Papa. Dan and I enjoyed a Royals game, an adult dinner in Lawrence, toured a new school for Burke and went car shopping. We missed the guy but enjoyed our quiet time together!

Tracks, trains, bridges and building. Burke is still occupied by legos and tracks and just wants to stay in his pjs and play all day.

It has been a nice and cool summer. Boys are cuddling at the pool.

Dan and I went to the Alison Kraus and Willie Nelson concert at Starlight with the McGowns.

Aunt Megan paid us a visit and we hit a royals game.

Happy Birthday Daddy! Dan turned 34 years young this summer so we celebrated by having the Pacey's and McGowns over for lamp chops and carrot cake while the kids ran in the sprinkler.

We cleaned up the Prius and said good bye to the good lil car. We sold it on Craigs list less than a week after buying a new 2014 Honda Pilot for me. I am looking forward to heated leather seats, 4 wheel drive and more room for Burke's legs in the back so he stops kicking the seat in front of him. Isn't she pretty!?!

Our vegetables are going crazy and the tomatoes are ripening. We have fun checking on our garden each day. We can't wait for the watermelons to be ready to eat.

Burke got a medal at his final soccer game!

Soccer!

Burke is playing Happy Feet Soccer for 8 weeks on Saturday mornings this summer.
They practice for the first 30 minutes and scrimmage for the last 30 minutes. He loves it!

Playing at home in the court with Will and his little brother, Drew.

San Diego Family Vacation

Burke's first airplane ride and trip to the beach. We are all happy to finally be at the beach.

Dan's Cousin Elizabeth invited us over for a nice dinner in San Diego. Elizabeth's son, Sam, was born on the EXACT same day as Burke. The boys had a blast together. It was so fun for us adults too.

Elizabeth, Sam and his little brother, Miles, joined us at the San Diego Zoo the next day. Sam loves maps and led the way.

 Pandas!

Look at all those sea lions on the beach!

Never enough beach time. Burke loved the sand and the waves.

A nice dinner out with my boys.

Uh oh. Who gave that boy two forks?

Just being silly and enjoying my boys.

Midway Aircraft Carrier on Memorial Day

The boys in the ship's brig. A new definition of time out. Maybe we need one at home.

Our vacation rental home. It was perfect. Located in La Jolla just 2 blocks from the beach and some cute restaurants, shops and a grocery store.

At Sea World waiting for Shamu.

 Touching Starfish

Playing at the park while we wait for Dad to run a FULL MARATHON in the San Diego Rock N Roll Marathon!

Crazy crowd!

Dan did it! He ran 26.2 miles in 4 hours and 36 minutes. We are so proud of him!

Later on Dan's race day we went out to Coronado Island and met Dan's high school friend, Marybeth, at a park to catch up. Its hard to believe they haven't seen each other since our wedding almost 10 years ago.

Burke handled his first plane trip quite well. We wore him out. He slept the whole ride home. :)
