Burke's 39th Week- Who needs toys?

Now that Burke is on the move he is busy exploring his home.
Who needs toys with all there is to do around here?
Here he enjoys the door stop. It kept him occupied for atleast 10 minutes.

 Peek a boo!
Uh Oh! Dead end. How does reverse work again?

A new shipment of diapers and Costco box of wipes are great drums when mom hands over her spatula and wooden spoon.
Do you really need to mop when you have pajamas on your baby mom? It's amazing how slippery this floor is with footies on.

Burke's 38th Week- Baptism

Burke is crawling!!! On Sunday, Sept. 18th Burke really starting crawling for the first time. Dan and I were there to witness it. The next day we received a note from daycare that confirmed our little boy was mobile.

That night we rearranged the furniture to cover up outlets, electrical cords and moved the couches to give this boy room to move. Burke is ready to start exploring.

Burke's Nonna made him his own custom Halloween outfit. We couldn't resist trying it on.
Our little skunk is stinkin' cute!!!
 What a little pumpkin right?
Reid was there to help us capture the best photo by entertaining Burke.
This weekend we invited the family to KC to witness Burke's Baptism. Grandma Karyl and Aunt Megan got Burke his purple sock monkey. Every kid should have a sock monkey. He loves it!
Sunday morning we all went to the 9:15 church service.
Aftwards we enjoyed a nice brunch at Granite City.
At 3:00 pm we went to the Wesley Chapel at our Church of the Resurrection where they had a smaller service just for Baptisms.
What you can't see is what happened before the Baptism. Right when we arrived Dan handed Burke to me to tell me he was stinky. I took him to the women's room to get him a fresh diaper only to realize we had a bad situation. Big time blowout. It was so bad I called Nicole to help me in the women's restroom. His pants were not salvagable and we didn't have a pair of back ups. We didn't have a choice but to take Burke to be baptized in just his shirt and sweater vest.... no pants. While I thought Nicole was cleaning up his pants in the bathroom under the hand dryer she ran to JC Penny's down the street and bought him a new pair (pictured below). Aunt Nicole saved the day!!!
Burke did well during the ceremony. He was probably happier without pants on. He later spit up all over Dan's suit. I guess he was just too excited.

Papa Jim and Burke having a good chat.
In case the baptism wasn't exciting enough, Aunt Megan gave Burke his first haircut. We just got a little trim around the ears, not off the top. Thanks Aunt Megan!

Burke's 37th Week- Pullin' UP!

We started Burke on meats this week. Pureed of course. The Gerber Turkey and Rice, Chicken Noodle and Vegetable Beef did not taste good to me, but Mr. B seemed to eat it right up like everything else.

This alligator outfit was a gift from my cousin Megan in CA. Yeah! He is our little alligator with two whole teeth.
Dad and Burke are ready to go to work and school.
Dan has a game he plays with Burke where he sits Burke in the grass. Then Dan backs up and runs towards Burke like he is going to tackle him yet Dan jumps right over Burke instead. Burke looks around trying to find his dad and giggles and waves his arms. Burke eventually figures his dad is on the other side of him. Dan calls this game "football."
Here is Dan mid jump over Burke.
 Good hops Dad!!! Whoa!
Mom decides to try. Why do I look more like a ninja than a football player?
 Playing in the backyard.
Burke is pulling up on things now. He figured out his toy box has a whole load of fun inside.
He prefers to be outside the exersaucer to be able to use it to pull up on.
This race track tower isn't just fun to put balls down, but fun to pull up on too.
Saturday night Grier kids joined us while Mom and Dad caught a night out. Look at the cute cousins! Burke is fully entertained watching his cousins.
 Movie night.
Sunday was a bit overcast. The Crofts headed to church.
Say Cheese! Burke loves his black comfy pants just like his mama.
 Matching gray t-shirts.

Burke's 36th Week- 8 Months Old!

This week started to feel like fall so Burke put his jeans and hoodie on to go to school.

Cheese! Look at my two bottom teeth poking through.
Burke still giggles when you put him in his laundry basket and take him for a ride and then drop his warm clothes from the dryer on him. He hasn't learned to fold them yet.
For the first time since Burke was born I left Burke overnight. I had a girls' weekend with my Bunko girlfriends. We took the Amtrak to Hermann, MO for wine tours. We had a wonderful weekend. Karyl came to KC to give Dan an extra hand and see Burke. They ventured to Deanna Rose, a petting zoo in Overland Park.

 Burke tries out a saddle.
 Quack!
 Moooo!

Baaa!
Did that baby goat just nibble on Burke's chubby feet? Sure enough.
I think Dan really enjoyed watching his son observe all the animals.

Soft? Touch is Burke's biggest learning right now. He loves to pet Gage too.
It is amazing. Our happy, healthy little boy is already 8 months old!

He wants to crawl so bad. Right now he gets on all fours, rocks back and forth then just backs up.

Peek A Boo is Burke's favorite game that he initiates. He pulls any blanket, burp cloth or shirt over his head, wiggles and giggles and then quickly pulls off the blanket and shrieks in delight. So stinkin' adorable.
He is happy to receive his blanket eat night at bed time and immediately pulls it over his head and rubs his face on it. What a silly monkey!
